Online Courses

Learning at your own pace

Online courses consisting of video presentations from leading UK professionals and experts-by-experiences together with slides, integral experiential exercises, handouts and further resources to support your learning.  The online courses currently available (at June 2018) consist of material extracted from or similar to some of the material presented in modules of ESTD-UK’s live face-to-face Foundation course.

All ESTD-UK courses are developed and delivered by the UK network of the European Society for Trauma & Dissociation in collaboration with experts-by-experience trainers from First Person Plural – dissociative identity disorders association (FPP).

We strongly advise you to complete our online courses in the sequence they are offered (Course 1, 2, 3 etc) as this  gives you a progressive learning experience which is the best way to benefit from our courses.  In our opinion only those who are already significantly trained in trauma-related complex dissociation at foundation level or above and have at least one years experience of working with DID and other complex dissociative disorders, should consider doing our courses out of sequence.  Even the most experienced of professionals may benefit from completing Course 1 as it is delivered by experienced trainers who are also experts-by-experience, an invaluable perspective not often available in courses of this nature.

Discounts for individuals are available on purchases of more than one course in one transaction.  Discounts are also offered for ESTD or FPP members and for participants from these Eastern European countries.

On application special bulk purchase discounts for 10, 20, 30 or ≥50 seats are available  for NHS and other bona fide organisations wishing to buy subscriptions to all four online courses for their staff.

Who are our online courses for?

  1. Professionally qualified and registered psychotherapist/counsellor/clinical psychologist/other psychological therapist
  2. Psychiatrist, GP, Nurse and other health or social care professions with a recognised qualification and professional registration for working therapeutically with people who have mental health problems.
  3. Clinician in training who has completed at least half of their professional qualification course and have experience of working with clients/patients

All participants must also have at least basic knowledge and understanding of trauma and its role in the development of a wide range of mental / emotional health problems

The courses focus on dissociative identity and similar complex post-traumatic dissociative disorders.  Participants completing our online courses in sequence gain an increasingly solid foundation on which to build their continuing professional development in a critical knowledge and skills set for recognising and working effectively with the many highly dissociative chronically traumatised individuals who present in NHS mental health and other therapy settings.

The courses recognise and build on participants existing knowledge and skills to increase confidence in identifying and working with this client group.
